Kids' Connection

Kids' Connection is an exciting, multi-media approach to church school.

Here's how it works.....  

• One Bible story is the focus for 4 to 5 weeks.
• Classrooms are transformed into customized workshops.
• The Bible story is explored through various workshops (drama, computers, art, storytelling, cooking)
• The children visit one workshop each week, allowing them to learn in varying modalities.
• Bible literacy is improved through repetition.
• Children love the variety and want to come.
• Parent work schedules and visitation arrangements that do not allow for weekly attendance are not a barrier. The stories are repeated and each lesson stands on its own.

Kids' Connection is open to children from pre-school through grade 6. There is a separate Teen Class for grade 7 and up. Classes meet at 10:45 AM, following the 9:30 AM Holy Eucharist.

St. John's stresses the ministry to the child and the ministry of the child. Children are full members of our faith community today. Children's attendance and participation in the worship service are encouraged at St. John's. Periodically, Children's Sunday is held, wherein the children assume all roles of the laity. Kids' Connection has an annual service project to minister to those outside the parish. In the past, money was raised for Alex's Lemonade Stand and the Heifer Project.
